Deuce Alexander made his presence felt against Louisville on Sunday night, as he caught a 62-yard pass from Trinidad Chambliss to give the Rebels the lead in the middle of the third quarter.

One deep touchdown is impressive, but Alexander added another 62-yard touchdown in the third quarter to give the Rebels a 24-16 lead late. On both of the plays, Alexander showcased his elite speed as he ran away from the Louisville defense.

Here’s a clip of Alexander’s second 62-yard TD of the night:

One of the biggest talking points in the off-season for the Rebels was who would become the go-to target for quarterback Trinidad Chambliss. Alexander had moments last year with 44 catches and 684 yards, but Harrison Wallace and De’Zhaun Stribling were the top two receivers last season.

It is still early in Week 1, but Alexander is showing his combination of route-running and speed is going to make him one of the best receivers in the SEC this year.

Running back Kewan Lacy and the Rebels had been struggling to run the ball at times on Sunday night, and then Alexander and the Rebels passing attack took off and got things rolling.
