Former Alabama star DeVonta Smith has taken his turn in the annual NFL tradition of rookies buying big-ticket items for their closest family members.

The All-American recently signed his first NFL contract, which was a four-year, $20.141 million deal with the Philadelphia Eagles that included a $12 million signing bonus. That meant he could buy his mom something special.

He posted a video to Instagram of him surprising his mother, Christian Smith-Sylve, with a new house with two cars in the garage.

โ€œTo the world you are a mother, but to me you are the absolute world,โ€ Smith wrote with the video.

Smith last season won the Heisman Trophy and became the first wide receiver to win the prestigious award since Desmond Howard in 1991. Christina is a social worker who earned her degree in social work from Southern University and Agricultural & Mechanical College in Baton Rouge and when sheโ€™s not working, Eagles Wire reported.

In his Alabama career, Smith caught 235 passes for 3,965 yards and 46 touchdowns. Smith holds the SEC records for single-season and career receiving yards and single-season and career touchdown receptions.

Along with the Heisman, Smith won the Maxwell Award and Camp Award as college footballโ€™s Player of the Year and the Fred Biletnikoff Award as the nationโ€™s best wide receiver. He also was a unanimous All-American and the SEC Offensive Player of the Year as Alabama won the CFP national championship last season.
