Dick Vitale is keeping an eye on the college hoops world, even while he’s resting his vocal cords and going through chemotherapy.
And, it’s safe to say he’s been impressed with what he’s seen from Kentucky big man Oscar Tshiebwe.
As you can see below, Dickie V took to Twitter on Wednesday morning to say Tshiebwe is the clear leader at the moment for the National Player of the Year award:
Clearly at this moment the leader for player of the year in college basketball is OSCAR TSHIEBWE of @KentuckyMBB @UKCoachCalipari OSCAR is the WINDEX MAN as he cleans the glass ! @JerryTipton @RexChapman @johnclayiv @rickbozich @HoopsWeiss @tsnmike

On Tuesday night, Tshiebwe had 30 points and 13 rebounds to lead Kentucky to a big 78-66 road win at Vanderbilt.
For the season, Tshiebwe is averaging an incredible 17 points and 15.1 rebounds per game. It’s hard to disagree too much with Dickie V’s tweet!
