Diego Pavia was not selected in the 2026 NFL Draft. This occurred despite impressive collegiate production and a second-place Heisman Trophy finish in 2025. Pavia’s smaller stature and off-field antics didn’t help his case, but he’s not one to give up on his dream.

Tuesday night, Pavia took to social media and revealed he would be trying to play in the UFL next season. The former Vanderbilt Commodore stated his agent is in negotiations with the league.

“[I] appreciate everyone reaching out with everything on my career. My agent [Malki Kawa] and the UFL are currently in negotiations to make this happen!” Pavia said. “Whatever team I end up at, I can promise you one thing- You will get everything I got.”

Pavia completed 70.6% of his passes (267/378) for 3,539 yards, 29 touchdowns and eight interceptions in his final season with the Commodores. His completion percentage and touchdown pass total were best in the SEC. He added 167 carries for 862 yards (5.2 yards per carry) and 10 touchdowns as a rusher. Vandy notched its first-ever 10-win season and second-highest final AP poll ranking (No. 15) because of Pavia’s efforts.

Following the NFL Draft, Pavia inked a contract with the Baltimore Ravens. He participated in the team’s rookie minicamp, but was cut ahead of training camp.
