Duke (20-2, 11-0) has not lost a game since losing on Nov. 26 to Kansas in a 75-72 thriller in Las Vegas. The Blue Devils are as hot of team as there is in college basketball, as they won their 16th consecutive game by winning on the road at Syracuse (10-13, 4-8), 83-54, on Wednesday night.
It was a balanced scoring night for Duke, as Tyrese Proctor led the team with 16 points. Four other players scored in double-digits for the Blue Devils, with freshman Cooper Flagg putting in 11 points to go along with 5 rebounds.
The offense of the Blue Devils were efficient the entire night, as they shot 56.6% (30-of-53) from the field, and 39.1% (9-of-23) from the 3-point line. They also took care of the ball extremely well, as they only turned the ball over 6 times.
While things are going well at Duke, the same can’t be said for the Syracuse Orange.
The loss was the 5th in their last 7 games, as Jyare Davis and J.J. Starling both led the way with 12 points.
Duke will look to win its 17th consecutive game as the Blue Devils travel to Clemson on Saturday. The game will tipoff on ESPN 6:30 p.m. ET, and will be the long-awaited return of Dick Vitale to the broadcast booth.
