Shortly after the College Football Playoff matchups were released, betting lines were officially established for the Orange Bowl and the Cotton Bowl.
Alabama opens as a 14-point favorite over Oklahoma, while Clemson is an 11.5-point favorite against Notre Dame.
It’ll be interesting to see if there is early line movement in the hours immediately after these lines were released.
Alabama is 8-5 against the spread this season, while Clemson is 7-6, Notre Dame is 7-5 and Oklahoma is 5-7-1.
Previously, there were just two double-digit point spreads in College Football Playoff history — Alabama over Michigan State (2015) and Washington (2016), according to The Action Network. Underdogs are 7-5 against the spread in the playoff, with five of those teams winning outright.
