LSU landed a big win at Vanderbilt, 66-38, but along the way, the Tigers sustained several injuries.

Coach Ed Orgeron shared an update on the injured players following the win in which QB Joe Burrow threw a school-record six touchdowns as the Tigers improved to 4-0, while Vanderbilt fell to 0-3. LSU improved to 12-5 all-time in Nashville.

LSU lost some key players to injury, including LB Michael Divinity and WR Terrace Marshall. Marshall was seen with a boot on his left foot and on crutches after the game. He left the game in the second half. Divinity also wore a boot on his left leg.

The Tigers enter their off week with about seven starters dealing with injuries.

Here’s what Orgeron told reporters after the game, including Brody Miller of The Athletic andย Cody Worsham of LSU Sports:

  • “Iโ€™m sure Iโ€™ll feel a little different tomorrow. But Iโ€™m feeling great right now to win a football game.”
  • โ€œit doesnโ€™t look goodโ€ for now on Terrace Marshall. โ€œPretty significantโ€ for Divinity. Jefferson โ€œwill be okay.โ€
  • โ€œWe canโ€™t make any excuses aboutโ€ missed tackles and missed assignments on defense.
  • โ€œI think thereโ€™s many more to come.โ€ on Derek Stingleyโ€™s interception
  • There were 32,000 fans at Vanderbilt. Orgeron is asked how many he thinks were LSU fans.ย “It seemed like 31,000.”
  • Orgeron said there are some different tackling drills he wants to try at practice. Also said one of the big runs allowed was Justin Thomas jumping into the wrong gap.
