Edgerrin Cooper will be ending his time with Texas A&M as he is entering his name into the 2024 NFL Draft.
Cooper announced that he will forgo the bowl game as well, effectively playing his last game in a Texas A&M uniform. He accounted for 205 total tackles, 30.5 tackles for loss, 8.5 sacks, and 2 interceptions from 2020-2023. Cooper was the Aggies’ leading tackler this year.
Here’s what he had to say about the decision:
“I’ve spent several days and nights reflecting on my time at Texas A&M. There will never be enough words to describe how much love and respect I have for the TAMU community. … Like many in my position, my goal has always been to achieve the professional level of football,” said Cooper. “That being said, I would like to announce I will be forgoing the bowl game to prepare for the 2024 NFL Draft.”

Texas A&M reached a bowl game at 7-5, but lost Jimbo Fisher in the process after a disappointing season. Former assistant Mike Elko is back in College Station to take over the head coaching duties.
Interim HC Elijah Robinson will still be on the sidelines even though he accepted an offer to become an assistant at Syracuse next season. Texas A&M faces Oklahoma State in the Texas Bowl on Dec. 27.
