Eli Drinkwitz reveals his message to new Mizzou OC Chip Lindsey regarding passing game

Following a 2025 season that featured running back Ahmad Hardy breaking Missouri’s single-season rushing yards record, Tigers coach Eli Drinkwitz said Monday that his message to first-year offensive coordinator Chip Lindsay is simple.
Be more multi-dimensional.
“It’s just being explosive,” Drinkwitz said while addressing Monday’s SEC Media Days in Tampa. “We have done a really good job in the past of really being proficient on the run game, but in games of need we weren’t able to complete passes and create explosives the way we needed to.”
Drinkwitz had earlier shared encouraging news about Hardy, who was shot in the leg during the offseason. The consensus All-American has been medically cleared from the bullet wound sustained as he attended an outdoor concert at a biker club in Laurel, Miss., though Hardy’s the return-to-play protocol could take between five to eight weeks.
Hardy ranked second among all FBS players in rushing last season with 1,649 yards and also scored 16 touchdowns while helping the Tigers go 8-5. Mizzou ranked first in the SEC in rushing offense last season, piling up 228.31 yards per game. But the Tigers were dead last in the conference in passing offense, throwing for only 188 yards per game.
