In the midst of the Florida Gators’ 42-21 loss against Alabama, it was a simple tweet from a Gator football legend that made the headlines.

Former Gators running back and the NFL’s all-time leading rusher Emmitt Smith took to Twitter during last Saturday’s game to voice his displeasure over quarterback Jeff Driskel’s performance against the Crimson Tide.

Smith tweeted that he thought Florida should “put Driskel on the bench” and that he had “seen enough.”

He later deleted the tweet.

Driskel finished with just 93 yards passing, one passing touchdown and two interceptions on 9-of-28 passing against Alabama.
