Philadelphia traded Carson Wentz to Indianapolis this offseason after Jalen Hurts started the Eagles’ final four games of the 2020 campaign. One ESPN analyst, however, thinks the Eagles made a mistake.

NFL analyst Dan Orlovsky turned some heads with comments he made during a recent appearance on ESPN’s morning show “Get Up.”

“If the Eagles could go back right now and re-do that decision, I’m 100% convinced that they would not have taken Jalen Hurts (in the 2020 NFL Draft),โ€ Orlovsky said, per the show’s Twitter account.

Orlovsky added, โ€œIf Jalen Hurts plays as well as he can, he canโ€™t sniff as good as Carson Wentz is.โ€

Wentz was benched for Hurts in December. Philadelphia defeated New Orleans in Hurts’ first start but dropped the final three games against Arizona, Dallas and Washington. Hurts was 77-of-148 passing in his rookie season, throwing for 1,061 yards, 6 touchdowns and 4 interceptions. He also ran 63 times for 354 yards and 3 TDs.
