An ESPN analyst shared her opinion of the 2025 version of the Iron Bowl smack in the middle of August, and it’s sure to raise more than a few eyebrows.
The annual bitter clash between Alabama and Auburn will take place in its usual spot in late November, Nov. 29 to be exact this time, and it’ll take place on the Plains, where Auburn almost knocked Alabama off 2 years ago. The Jalen Milroe miracle took care of that, as the Crimson Tide escaped after Milroe hit Isaiah Bond on a 4th-and-31 pass in what was one of the most memorable Iron Bowls of all-time.
Well, here we are, 2 years later. It’s an odd-number year, which means that Auburn will host Alabama once again. And in an SEC Network video teasing the expectations that analysts had for Auburn this season, ESPN analyst Heather Dinich came right out and said it. She believes that Auburn will take down the Crimson Tide this time. This time, there will be no miracles, and the Tigers will get the better of the late-November game that means everything in the state of Alabama.
The video was just meant to lay out what the Tigers could possibly do in 2025 under Hugh Freeze, who has a lot to prove this fall at Auburn after going 11-14 in his first 2 seasons. Dinich went beyond the general expectations and said something that could be bulletin-board material in Tuscaloosa.
“I’m going to tell you right now, that Auburn is going to win the Iron Bowl. Hugh Freeze has finally had the time to bring in the players to help him do that,” said Dinich.
Here is the full video of analysts breaking down Auburn’s chances this fall, with that shocking prediction included:
In about 3.5 months, we’ll know whether Dinich was on to something or just way off in the rivalry that knows no bounds. But in mid-August, Dinich fired the first shot of this year’s Iron Bowl, and it’s sure to get some reaction on both sides of the rivalry.
