ESPN College GameDay reveals celebrity guest picker for Week 5 show in Iowa City
ESPN College GameDay announced on Friday night which celebrity guest picker will be gracing the TV screen when viewers tune into the popular Saturday morning pregame show in Iowa City.
When at Iowa, do what’s appropriate, the network figured, and so none other than Hawkeyes basketball legend Caitlin Clark was the choice. Clark thrilled fans in Iowa City with her shooting exploits and overall amazing play on the basketball court, and now on Saturday morning she’ll have the opportunity to talk a little football in the leadup to No. 14 Iowa’s huge Big Ten matchup against No. 5 Ohio State (3:30 p.m. ET, CBS).
Clark’s Hawkeyes carry a perfect 4-0 record into Saturday’s clash, following last week’s thrilling win at Michigan, and now they’ll be trying to hand Ohio State its first Big Ten loss and second loss overall this season.
The ratings for College GameDay are normally very high, no matter who the guest picker is for that week, but this particular choice by ESPN is likely to help send the ratings soaring, with Clark such a popular figure in Iowa City, in Iowa and across the country.
While Clark gives a big welcome to college football fans in Week 5, Iowa and Ohio State will be trying to beat each other as they also try to stay firmly in the running for a national championship in 2026.
