ESPN’s SP+ predicts final score of Florida-Auburn Week 3 game

Florida and Auburn haven’t met since 2019, a 24-13 Gators win at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.
Week 3 sees the series between the two teams resume as SEC play commences. Both first-year head coaches — Auburn’s Alex Golesh and Florida‘s Jon Sumrall — will be looking to start their respective seasons with a 3-0 mark.
According to ESPN’s SP+ projections, the Gators will be the ones walking off the field at Jordan-Hare Stadium with a win. They’re projected to come out on top 26-21.
Florida has outscored opponents 118-24 in its first two games. It cruised past Florida Atlantic 66-21 to open the season, then routed FCS Campbell 52-3 in Week 2.
Auburn had to grind one out in Week 1 in Atlanta against Baylor, eventually holding on for a 17-16 win as Eric Winters made a game-saving tackle on a Bears two-point conversion attempt with nine seconds to go. In Week 2, the Tigers opened their home schedule with a 43-8 victory over Southern Miss.
The all-time series is tight, but Auburn currently has the edge, 44-39-2. Saturday’s game will be the Gators’ first trip to Auburn since 2011.
Though Saturday marks the first game between Auburn and Florida in seven years, they won’t have to wait long to meet again. They’re scheduled to play each other in Gainesville in 2028.
