FBS quarterback sucker-punched while celebrating team’s exciting OT victory

The UNLV-Nevada game provided plenty of fireworks on Saturday. In Tony Sanchez’s last game as the coach of the Rebels, UNLV earned a dramatic 33-30 overtime victory.
Then, in the postgame celebration, chaos ensued. While UNLV QB Kenyon Oblad was celebrating the game-winning touchdown pass, a Nevada defender sucker-punched him in the head, knocking him to the ground.
As you can see in the video below (which contains some NSFW language), that punch sparked a brawl on the field:
Best video Iโve seen of the fight. Appears Nevadaโs Austin Arnold threw the first punch (a punch from behind on UNLVโs quarterback). Kenyon Obland might have said something to spark it, but that punch led to the brawl.

That was certainly an ugly scene and an ugly way to end what ended up being a very exciting game.
Nevada coach Jay Norvell weighed in on the situation after the game, per Nevada Sports Net:
โI donโt even really know what happened to be honest with you,โ Norvell said. โI canโt speak about it. Itโs an emotional game, a lot of these kids know each other. Either way, winning a game or losing a game, thereโs never an excuse to act the wrong way. Iโm not quite sure what happened. Weโll get to the bottom of it. Itโs a football game, itโs competitive, itโs emotional and itโs a hard game for a lot of these kids. A lot of these kids will never get a chance to play in this game again. A lot of these kids never get a chance to play in Mackay again.โ
