First SEC targeting call, ejection of the year belongs to Mizzou

Midway through the third quarter against Missouri State, Missouri’s Cam Hilton received the first targeting call of the year in the SEC.
Hilton was disqualified for a block on a punt return. It was a textbook call where Hilton led with his helmet.
Because the call came in the second half, Hilton will miss the first half of next week’s game against South Carolina.
Hilton started six games at safety last season, but was listed as a backup on the most recent depth chart.
