Florida added a big piece to its 2026 recruiting class on Sunday afternoon.

The Gators have earned a commitment from 3-star defensive lineman Jamir Perez. He shared the news of his commitment with On3’s Hayes Fawcett:

While Perez is currently a 3-star prospect, he has an impressive offer list that includes Ohio State, Wisconsin, Michigan State, Louisville, Vanderbilt, Iowa State and more. His recruitment has picked up in recent weeks, as Perez initially received an offer from the Gators back on May 2 of this year.

Perez is currently ranked as the No. 1,012 player and the No. 104 defensive lineman in the country for the class of 2026. However, that ranking could rise significantly over the coming months. Perez attends Glenville HIgh School in Cleveland, Ohio. He’s listed at 6-foot-4, 360 pounds.

The Gators are off to a relatively slow start in the class of 2026. Perez is just the 2nd high school prospect to commit to Florida so far in this cycle, joining 4-star quarterback Will Griffin.
