The 13th-ranked Gators are set to face off against in-state foe South Florida this Saturday in The Swamp for the second contest of the 2025 campaign. On the eve of kickoff, Florida announced which players will serve as team captains for the game.

Per the team’s official X account, the Gators will be rolling with a trio of upperclassmen as their leaders for Week 2 in senior defensive back Devin Moore, senior offensive lineman Austin Barber, and junior defensive back Dijon Johnson.

These 3 will be leading Florida against a very stout South Florida side that is coming off a Week 1 beatdown of then-No. 25 Boise State, and could pose a sneaky threat to the Gators if they aren’t careful.

Saturday’s face-off against USF will also be Florida’s last game before they kick off their in-conference slate in Week 3 against No. 3 LSU on the road, so they will have to avoid looking past their in-state foe.

This is also largely the same Bulls’ squad that gave Alabama all it could handle for 3-plus quarters last season, a fact that head coach Billy Napier is unlikely to let slip past his team.

Kickoff between the Gators and the Bulls is slated for 4:15 p.m. ET on SEC Network. Florida is an 18.5-point favorite, per BetMGM.
