Florida made another big splash on the recruiting trail on Friday morning.
The Gators have been hot in the class of 2027 lately and have now secured a commitment from 3-star athlete Kamarion Johnson. Florida beat out Florida State and Cincinnati for his pledge, per Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett.
“I’m home, Go Gators,” he told Fawcett.

Johnson is a big pickup for the Gators. While he’s currently regarded as a 3-star prospect, he’s on the cusp of blue-chip status. He’s currently ranked as the No. 439 overall player in the nation for the class of 2027, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
Johnson attends Clinch County High School in Homerville, Georgia. He’s listed at 6-foot, 185 pounds. Johnson is listed as an athlete and it’s not yet clear what position he will play at the next level.
Johnson’s recruitment has been trending up in recent weeks. He earned scholarship offers from Florida, Alabama and other programs back in April.
Florida is now up to 21 commitments in the class of 2027. The Gators have the No. 5-ranked class in the nation for this cycle, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
