Florida just made a big addition to its 2027 recruiting class.
The Gators have landed a commitment from 3-star linebacker Robert ‘Tre’ Geathers III. He chose Florida over Georgia, South Carolina and Tennessee, per Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett.
“Gator nation I’m home,” Geathers said in his commitment announcement to Rivals.
While Geathers is currently regarded as a 3-star prospect, his impressive offer list suggests he may see a rise up the rankings before the end of the 2027 cycle. He’s currently the No. 582 overall player for the class of 2027, per 247Sports Composite rankings.

However, his recruitment has taken off in recent weeks. He’s picked up the majority of his major offers since the beginning of April and is trending up as he heads toward his senior season of high school football.
Geathers plays for Providence Day School in Charlotte, North Carolina. He’s listed at 6-foot-2, 212 pounds.
Florida is now up to 23 commits in the class of 2027. The group is led by 5-star offensive lineman Maxwell Hiller, who is regarded as one of the top overall recruits in the nation regardless of position.
Overall, Florida’s 2027 recruiting class now ranks No. 6 in the country, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
