Florida landed a new commitment on Tuesday. Elijah Hutcheson is the newest verbal commitment for the Gators.
Out of Roanoke (Virginia) North Cross High School, Hutcheson is listed as measuring 6-5, 275 pounds. On the 247Sports Composite, Hutcheson is rated 4-stars, the No. 2 player in the state of Virginia, No. 7 offensive tackle and No. 85 prospect overall in the Class of 2027.
So far in his recruitment, Hutcheson has 22 scholarship offers. Arkansas, Auburn, Florida State, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio State, South Carolina and Tennessee are among the programs that showed interest. Hutcheson told Hayes Fawcett of Rivals that he chose Florida over Clemson, Virginia Tech and Vanderbilt.
With Hutcheson on board, Florida now has 11 commitments for 2027, the first full cycle for Jon Sumrall‘s staff. Phil Trautwein, the offensive line coach who was part of two national-championship teams at UF, is doing particularly well on the recruiting trail. Hutcheston is the third blue-chip offensive lineman to commit for 2027, joining April commitments 5-star OT Maxwell Hiller and 4-star IOL Peyton Miller.
