A Kentucky defensive back transfer is following some of his former coaches to Florida.

Cam Dooley has committed to continuing his college football career at Florida. He shared the news with Hayes Fawcett of On3.

The team will be new, but Dooley will be playing for a couple of familiar faces. Jon Sumrall‘s first Florida coaching staff includes defensive coordinator Brad White and safeties coach Chris Collins. White was Kentucky’s defensive coordinator for the past 7 seasons. Collins was co-defensive coordinator and defensive backs coach for the past five.

Dooley will join Florida after 2 seasons at Kentucky. He played in 24 games, cracking the starting lineup for the final 3 games of the 2025 campaign.

This past season, Dooley logged 30 total tackles, including 20 solo stops and 1 TFL. He also posted 1 interception, 1 fumble return and 1 forced fumble.

Out of Valley (Alabama) High School, Dooley was rated 4-stars, the No. 14 ATH, No. 21 player in the state of Alabama and No. 322 prospect overall on the 247Sports Composite for the Class of 2024. Dooley chose Kentucky over 10 other scholarship offers during his recruitment, after visiting UK, Vanderbilt and Missouri.
