Florida has struggled on offense all season, and that was once again the case for the entirety of the first half against the Miami Hurricanes on Saturday night.

However, the Gator defense kept the team in the game until the offense could wake up.

On Florida’s first drive of the third quarter, Jadan Baugh capped an 11-play, 80-yard drive with a rushing touchdown to cut the Miami lead to 13-7. The drive came immediately after a Miami drive that looked like it had produced a touchdown stalled out instead.

The Gators struggled mightily in the pass game Saturday night, but one thing quarterback DJ Lagway did not do was hurt his team by turning the ball over. In the loss to LSU last weekend, he threw 5 interceptions, constantly putting the team in tough spots.

While Lagway had less than 100 passing yards on Saturday, Florida did not turn the ball over.

The Gators entered the game off of 2 straight losses — to South Florida and LSU. With those defeats, hot seat talk surrounding coach Billy Napier ignited once again.

After the game against Miami, the schedule doesn’t get any easier for Florida, as the next 2 games are at home against Texas, and then on the road at Texas A&M.
