A Florida offensive lineman is making headlines for the wrong reasons.

Gainesville (Florida) Police Department records show that Devon Manuel was arrested early Friday on misdemeanor DUI and felony concealed weapon charges. Graham Hall of 247Sports reported more details of Manuel’s arrest.

Per Hall, Manuel was pulled over for driving approximately 60 mph in a 45 mph zone. Upon approaching the vehicle, officers noted the odor of marijuana.

Manuel was asked if he had a medical marijuana card and told officers he did not. He also told officers that he had a firearm in the vehicle.

Per the report, officers recovered a Glock 20 and a THC vape from searching Manuel’s vehicle. When asked to perform a field sobriety test, Manuel blamed his poor performance on an injured meniscus in his right knee. He submitted a 0.000 breath sample and also provided a urine sample for further testing.

Manuel is a redshirt senior offensive lineman. He spent 3 seasons at Arkansas (2021-23) before entering the transfer portal and joining the Gators.

Last season, Manuel appeared in the Miami, Samford and Mississippi State games for Billy Napier‘s squad. He logged a total of 58 snaps, receiving an 82.9 pass block grade and a 70.2 offense grade from PFF.
