Alabama got out to a 6-0 start in Tuscaloosa on Tuesday night against the Florida Gators, but that lead did not last.

The Crimson Tide ended the first half trailing 37-18 and couldn’t fight their way back into the game as the Gators maintained that lead through the second half, holding on for an impressive road victory.

Star freshman PG Collin Sexton didn’t hit a field goal during the first half, finishing the game with 14 points. Meanwhile, Florida’s Jalen Hudson had a huge game, scoring an impressive 27 points during the rout.

The Gators’ defense stole the show, though, holding the Tide to just 30.5 percent from the field and 20 percent from beyond the three-point arc.

The Gators now head into an important regular-season finale at home vs. Kentucky, as a win against the Wildcats would likely give them a top-four seed (which means a double-bye) in the SEC Tournament.

Meanwhile, the Tide need to win at Texas A&M on Saturday to keep their NCAA Tournament hopes alive as the postseason begins.
