With Alabama hitting the road for the first time since Charles Bediako was ruled eligible to play for the Crimson Tide, everybody figured that the home crowd in Gainesville would let him hear it throughout the afternoon.

And a prime moment came when Bediako stepped to the free-throw line during the first half, as the ‘Rowdy Reptiles’ Florida student section broke out in a chant directed at the center’s past place of employment.

“G League dropout!” the student section cheered while Bediako took his shots.

At halftime of Alabama’s current contest, Bediako has accounted for 4 points, 5 rebounds and 3 blocks as a force on the defensive end through 15 minutes of action.

In two home games against Tennessee and Missouri, Bediako has made a sizable impact. He’s accounted for a combined 27 points, 9 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 blocks in those matchups.

The 6-foot-11 Ontario native is eligible to play due to a temporary restraining order filed in Tuscaloosa, although the preliminary injunction hearing for the case is currently set for Feb. 6.

The next time Bediako and the Crimson Tide hit the road won’t be until next Saturday, but it’s sure to feature plenty more antics. After all, nobody would like to get under Bediako’s skin more than the fans in Auburn.
