Florida just made a massive addition to its 2026 recruiting class.

The Gators have earned a commitment from 4-star defensive lineman JaReylan McCoy. A Mississippi native, McCoy chose Florida over Texas, LSU and numerous other top programs who have offered him a scholarship during his recruitment.

On3’s Hayes Fawcett was first to share the news of his commitment on Saturday afternoon:

This is a huge addition for Florida in the class of 2026. He’s the No. 121 overall player and the No. 16 defensive lineman in the country for this recruiting cycle, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the No. 7 player from the state of Mississippi.

Per 247Sports, McCoy took multiple trips to Gainesville in recent weeks prior to making this decision. He initially received an offer from the Gators way back in August of 2024.

This is Florida’s second blue-chip commitment of the day. The Gators landed 4-star receiver Marquez Daniel on Saturday morning. Per 247Sports Composite rankings, McCoy and Daniel are 2 of the 3 highest-rated players in UF’s recruiting class so far. Florida has 10 commitments overall but is expected to push for more in the coming weeks and months.

McCoy is listed at 6-foot-6, 245 pounds. He attends Tupelo High School in Tupelo, Mississippi.
