The Alabama Crimson Tide‘s blowout Week 1 loss at the hands of an unranked Florida State Seminoles squad was probably the biggest shocker of the young season, as the playoff hopefuls had no answer for the new look Noles.
The aftermath of such a shocking result has naturally spawned a number of interesting takes on what led to the Tide getting dominated in every phase of the game by what most people considered to be an inferior opponent heading into the game.
Former Crimson Tide running back and 2-time national champion Trent Richardson touched on the game on the latest edition of The Dynasty podcast, identifying nasty message that the Noles sent early on in the game that set the tone for how the disastrous afternoon unfolded.
“I literally seen an offensive lineman from Florida State rub their junk on somebody’s head from Alabama while they was on the ground,” Richardson said. “Like, he pancaked him and rubbed his junk. Just letting him know, you’re finna get this all night. They sent a message to us real early.”
Sometimes, the only way to describe what happened in a game like this is to use the most blunt language possible, and that’s precisely what Richardson used. The message was clear, and it wasn’t pretty.
