OJ Howard, who was surprisingly cut by the Buffalo Bills on Tuesday, is visiting the Cincinnati Bengals on Wednesday and expected to sign, provided all goes well with a physical.
Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reported the news, and added that the former first-round pick should come together with his new team on Wednesday.
Howard is set to join his third NFL team after the former Tampa Bay Buccaneers first-round pick signed a one-year, $3.5 million contract in Buffalo this offseason. And the Bills still let him go even though the money was guaranteed. Howard struggled this preseason, and made just 3 catches on 4 targets in 78 snaps.
In 5 seasons with Tampa Bay, Howard made 119 catches for 1,737 yards and 15 touchdowns.
In Buffalo, he was expected to complement former Ole Miss star Dawson Knox at the tight end position in the high-powered Bills passing game.
At Alabama, Howard may be most remembered for being the MVP of the 2015 College Football Playoff National Championship Game after he made 5 catches for a career-high 208 yards and 2 touchdowns against Clemson.
