Former Auburn LB Dee Ford was rewarded for a big performance against the Denver Broncos on Sunday.

The Kansas City Chiefs player sacked QB Case Keenum three times in a 30-23 victory, and that was a main reason why he was named AFC Defensive Player of the Week. That lifted his season total to eight sacks. He also had five tackles and two forced fumbles in the game. It’s the first time the fifth-year linebacker has received this award.

Ford is just the fifth player in the last three seasons to make at least three sacks and two forced fumbles in a single game.

Pro Football Focus tallied eight QB hurries by Ford, and he leads the league with 45 of those through eight games.

Ford is just two sacks shy of matching his career-high (10), and there’s still eight games left in the season.
