Former LSU head coach Brian Kelly is set to call games for CBS during the 2026 college football season, according to a report on Wednesday from Front Office Sports. Kelly is expected to be part of a 3-man booth for Mountain West matchups.

Kelly is also set to be an analyst on Inside College Football on CBS Sports.

Kelly was fired by LSU following the Tigers’ 2025 matchup against Texas A&M, a loss that moved the Aggies to 5-3 on the season. Kelly, who come to Baton Rouge via Notre Dame, coached the Tigers for 3 and a half seasons. He previously coached at Grand Valley State, Central Michigan and Cincinnati before landing with the Fighting Irish, where he coached for 12 years before resigning with a 92-39 record.

Of course, LSU now has Lane Kiffin, who looks to bring the Tigers back to the College Football Playoff for the first time since their national championship season in 2019. Kiffin, who brought in an intriguing group of transfers headlined by QB Sam Leavitt, begins his LSU tenure against Clemson in Week 1 at Tiger Stadium.
