Danny Etling has been on fire in the preseason for the Green Bay Packers.
Sometimes, business is just cruel. The Packers informed Etling that he would be released on Tuesday ahead of the NFL’s 53-man roster deadline at 4pm EST.

Etling had the second best passer rating in the 2022 preseason, just behind former Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields and in front of former Tennessee signal caller Jarrett Guarantano.

Etling saw multiple stops in college (Purdue for two seasons, LSU for three) before being drafted in the seventh round of the 2018 NFL Draft by the New England Patriots. He played in two of his three seasons with the Tigers, totaling 4,586 yards for 27 touchdowns across 2016 and 2017.
