Former LSU quarterback Colin Hurley signed with the Tigers as part of Brian Kelly’s 2024 recruiting class and entered the transfer portal shortly after the hiring of Lane Kiffin.
He’ll now head to the Big Ten to continue his college career. Hurley has committed to Michigan, revealing the news on his Instagram account on Tuesday.
The former four-star recruit was ranked the No. 25 quarterback in his class by 247Sports’ Composite and spent two seasons with the LSU program. He was originally a 2025 recruit but reclassified to enroll a year early. He ultimately saw no playing time with the Tigers.
Hurley is fortunate to even be alive right now. In January 2025, his Dodge Charger struck a tree near the LSU campus, rendering him unresponsive. He was hospitalized before ultimately recovering in time to join the Tigers in spring camp a few months later.
He’s now committed to Michigan, which has faced a much more sudden coaching transition after the firing of Sherrone Moore. Kyle Whittingham was eventually named the Wolverines’ head coach just weeks after he stepped down at Utah after 22 seasons and over three decades with the program altogether.
