The Tennessee Volunteers have to replace K Aaron Medley this season, and it appears they’ll bring in outside help to add some competition to the position battle.

Brent Cimaglia made eight of his 13 field-goal attempts last season, but the Vols clearly aren’t 100-percent confident in him heading into the spring.

According to 247Sports, the Vols are bringing in a graduate transfer kicker from Michigan — Ryan Tice. Tice made all 10 of his extra-point attempts at Michigan, but missed his only field-goal try.

However, he didn’t appear in a single game last season, and clearly felt it was time for him to move on.

Tice does seem to have a big leg, though, as he averaged 63 yards on kickoffs at Michigan and also posted a video of him appearing to hit a 61-yard field goal on his Twitter:

Tice has a long way to go to win the Vols’ starting job, but he’ll have as good of a shot as anyone to land the role in 2018.
