One of the best players to come out of the Missouri Tigers‘ football program in recent years has been running back Cody Schrader, who spent the 2022-23 seasons as the primary ball carrier for the Tigers down in Columbia.

His 2023 campaign in particular was truly special, as he carried the 276 times for 1,627 yards and 14 touchdowns en route to a top-10 Heisman finish and being named a First-Team All-American.

Despite this stellar performance in his final season with Mizzou, though, Schrader ultimately wasn’t selected in the 2024 NFL Draft and was picked up by the San Francisco 49ers as an undrafted free agent.

He was quickly let go by the Niners, but got picked up by the Los Angeles Rams shortly afterwards, where he spent the 2024 campaign. Schrader made the Rams’ opening day roster out of camp, but was cut again by the Rams following their week 1 win against the Houston Texans.

Now, Schrader is on the move again, this time being picked up by the Jacksonville Jaguars, who just announced via X that they have agreed to terms with the now second-year running back.

The Jags’ signing of Schrader comes as a follow-up to the team shipping off Tank Bigsby to the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for a couple of late-round draft picks.

Hopefully, the former Mizzou star will be able to finally carve out a role for himself down in Jacksonville moving forward and put his dynamic skillset to good use at the pro level.
