Former South Carolina QB Connor Shaw collapses at son’s football game, per report

Former South Carolina quarterback Connor Shaw collapsed at his son’s football game and was hospitalized on Wednesday night, according to Jackson Castellano of The State.
Shaw, 33, was at his 9-year-old son’s football game when he reportedly fell or passed out. He was taken from the field by an ambulance and was in the medical ICU at Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital. As of Thursday morning. Shaw’s condition was unknown.
Shaw was a South Carolina quarterback from 2010-2013. In 2021, Shaw was elected to the South Carolina athletics hall of fame.
He still holds the record for most wins by a South Carolina quarterback. Shaw’s best season at South Carolina was his senior year, where he threw for over 2,400 yards, 24 touchdowns, and just 1 interception. South Carolina finished the year 11-2 overall and ranked 4th in the final AP poll. The season ended with a win over Wisconsin in the Capital One Bowl.
The Cleveland Browns signed Shaw in 2014 after he went undrafted. Shaw only played in 1 NFL game for Cleveland, in which he completed 14 of his 28 passing attempts for 177 yards and an interception.
Shaw was claimed off waivers by the Chicago Bears in 2016. He was later released in 2017 following a hamstring injury.
