Florida State had arguably the biggest and most surprising win of Week 1 after the Seminoles dominated Alabama by a score of 31-17. The Seminoles entered that game as a 14-point favorite, and were in control of that game for the final three quarters.

In the final seconds, the fans rushed the field to celebrate the huge win. On Monday, the ACC announced that Florida State would be fined $50,000 for a violation of the league’s event security policy.

For Florida State, the $50,000 fine is well worth after getting that victory over the Crimson Tide. Last season, the Seminoles entered the season as the No. 10 team in the country, but lost the opener to Georgia Tech en route to a 2-10 season.

This was a big game for the Seminoles. Just two seasons ago they went undefeated and won the ACC Championship. To have that disappointing of a year last season, and then have to play Alabama in the season-opener was a daunting task. However, the Seminoles responded, and now look like a team that once again could contend for the ACC and potentially a College Football Playoff spot.

The Seminoles will be back in action at home in Week 2, as they host East Texas A&M.
