Mississippi State’s 2021 recruiting class received a boost on Wednesday as in-state offensive lineman Gabe Cavazos announced his commitment to Mike Leach’s Bulldog program.

The Lake Cormorant High School product does not currently have a recruiting ranking but is listed at 6-foot-5, 292-pounds and has received scholarship offers from Arkansas State, Memphis, Middle Tennessee State and South Alabama.

Following Cavazos’ commitment, Mississippi State now holds pledges from two offensive line prospects in the class and 14 overall commitments in the class.

The only other offensive lineman committed to Mississippi State’s 2021 recruiting class is three-star Mississippi prospect, Makylan Pounders.

While he may not have a recruiting ranking at the time of this posting, Cavazos’ junior season highlight reel with Lake Cormorant High School features several impressive blocks from his left tackle position.

If he can bring this same level of intensity to the field in Starkville, he’ll be a fan favorite in no time.
