Gary Danielson has a reputation among SEC fans, and his “SEC on CBS” broadcast partner is aware of that, and made a good-natured one-liner in the first half of the Georgia game against Florida on Saturday.
After offsetting penalties against players from both teams, Danielson corrected the officials at the 4:01 mark in the first half about it being a 1st down, and not a 4th down.
Here’s the exchange:
Brad Nessler: He just waited for you to say that.
Gary Danielson: See, after I’m done doing this, I’d like to be an official in the SEC. I think I could get yelled at as an official.
Brad Nessler: I think you’d get booed no matter what you do.
Nessler and Danielson were on the call as Georgia rang up a big lead on the Gators in Jacksonville after Florida scored first in the game for the first time since 2015.
Georgia rattled off 3 touchdowns in 5:49 to take a commanding lead after Florida at halftime.
Georgia is looking to extend its winning streak to 25 games with a win.
