Georgia announces plans to Stripe Sanford for Saturday’s game against Oklahoma

The No. 2 Georgia Bulldogs are gearing up for their first true SEC test of the season this Saturday, with John Mateer and the Oklahoma Sooners set to travel to Athens for a 3:30 p.m. kick between the hedges in Sanford Stadium.
This will be just the second all-time meeting between these 2 legendary programs, with the first coming back in the 2017 College Football Playoff Semifinals in what is arguably the greatest Rose Bowl of all time.
If this Saturday’s contest ends up being anything like that instant classic in Pasadena, the Dawgs will need all the help they can get from their home fans to secure the win. In an effort to get everyone attending even more fired up for the primetime showdown, Georgia officially announced on X that Saturday’s matchup will be a stripe out.
As the name suggests, fans who will be attending the game are encouraged to coordinate their attire to the section they will be sitting in in order to achieve the red, white, and black stripe effect that runs down the sides of the player’s iconic silver britches throughout the entire stadium.
The Dawgs debuted this new fan engagement strategy last season against the Ole Miss Rebels, a game Georgia won 43-35 thanks in large part to the energy fans provided.
Now, Bulldog Nation is being called on once again to bring that same energy this Saturday when Oklahoma comes to the Classic City for the first time.
