The No. 9 Georgia Bulldogs are set for another huge mid-season test between the hedges, this time welcoming the No. 5 Ole Miss Rebels to town for a clash of top-10 SEC squads in Sanford Stadium.
Head coach Kirby Smart and the Dawgs will be looking to keep pace in a very crowded SEC title game picture and avoid dropping their second game of the season in the process.
This is arguably the most important game of the season for Georgia, and they just announced which players will be leading the team onto the field against Ole Miss as team captains.
Per the official Georgia football X account, junior tight end Oscar Delp, senior defensive back Daylen Everette, sophomore linebacker Quintavius Johnson, and junior wide receiver have all been named as the team captains for this pivotal Week 8 matchup.
Delp and Humphreys have been 2 of the most consistent pass-catching threats for quarterback Gunner Stockton, with Humphreys in particular making some very clutch grabs, including the 4th down touchdown that tied the game against Tennessee in the waning moments of the fourth quarter a few weeks back.
Everette is one of the leaders in the Dawgs’ secondary and has racked up 11 tackles to go along with 3 pass breakups so far this season. Johnson has emerged as one of the more reliable players along the front 7 for Georgia, racking up 16 total tackles and 2 tackles for loss.
