Georgia football’s 2027 quarterback is officially on board.
The Bulldogs added a commitment from 4-star quarterback Colton Nussmeier on Friday, the younger brother of former LSU standout Garrett Nussmeier.
Nussmeier is the son of longtime coach Doug Nussmeier, who worked with Kirby Smart at Alabama as the Tide’s offensive coordinator in 2012 and 2013. Smart, of course, served as defensive coordinator for the Crimson Tide from 2008-2015.
Nussmeier hails from Denton Ryan high school in Denton, Texas, located between and north of Fort Worth and Dallas. He stands at 6-foot-3, 195 pounds and held offers from plenty of big-name programs such as Michigan, LSU, Texas Tech, Arkansas, Auburn and Florida, to name a few. Nussmeier will no longer take an official visit to Arkansas after committing to Georgia on Friday.
He’s a highly-rated prospect, too, considered to be the No. 167 overall prospect in the country, as well as the No. 14 quarterback and No. 24 overall prospect out of the Lone Star State in the Class of 2027.
Georgia’s top 4 commitments in the 2027 class are all offensive players. Just above Nussmeier is 5-star running back Kemon Spell, followed by 5-star TE Jaxon Dollar and 4-star offensive tackle Kelsey Adams.
