Georgia got a commitment from 4-star defensive lineman Carter Luckie, who will arrive in Athens in 2026 and continue a Bulldogs football family tradition.

Luckie told On3 of his decision to join Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs on Saturday afternoon. He chose Georgia over Florida State, with NC State and defending national champion Ohio State also in the mix.

Getting the 6-foot-5, 275-pound Luckie to come to Georgia is a huge win all around for the program. It adds quality depth to the Bulldogs’ defensive line starting in 2026. It’s an in-state win for Smart, as Luckie is a Norcross product who will be staying close to home to play at Georgia.

To top it off, it keeps that Luckie family tradition in Athens going strong. Luckie is the younger brother of current Georgia tight end Lawson Luckie. The Luckie brothers could play together in Athens if Lawson decides to come back for the 2026 season.

There are deeper family ties to Georgia, though, as the Luckie brothers’ father, Mike Luckie, lettered for the Bulldogs at linebacker from 1996-98. If that isn’t enough, the brothers’ uncles, Dustin and Miles, lettered at Georgia at linebacker and offensive lineman.

According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, Carter Luckie is the 318th-ranked player in the 2026 class. He’s the 39th-ranked defensive lineman in the class and the 40th-ranked player out of the state of Georgia.

Georgia will look forward to seeing him in red and black in 2026 and, of course, seeing yet another member of the Luckie family suit up for the Bulldogs.
