The Georgia Bulldogs have moved down 4 spots in ESPN’s updated power rankings, coming in at No. 6 after Week 2.

The Bulldogs won their Week 2 matchup against the Austin Peay Governors by a score of 28-6, but everything wasn’t easy for Georgia. The offense didn’t look great as it struggled to move the ball against the Governors.

Quarterback Gunna Stockton completed 26 of 34 passes for 227 yards but was unable to crack the end zone. Georgia did have some success running the ball, as 3 different rushers gained over 50 yards. Nate Frazier had 69 yards and 2 touchdowns on 14 carries. Chauncey Bowens also scored 2 touchdowns on the ground.

While the offense didn’t look great, the defense of the Bulldogs continued their dominance. Limiting the Governors to 196 yards of offense and not allowing them into the end zone. The defense also came away with an interception off Austin Peay quarterback Chris Parson.

Here’s some analysis from ESPN’s Mark Schlabach on UGA after Week 2:

The Bulldogs’ 28-6 win against FCS program Austin Peay was hardly the kind of performance coach Kirby Smart wanted going into next week’s SEC opener at high-flying Tennessee. Georgia’s offense struggled to get the ball down the field and couldn’t score on four straight plays from the 1-yard line against the Governors’ undersized defensive front at the end of the first half. Injuries have hampered Georgia’s offensive line (starting right guard Juan Gatson and right tackle Earnest Greene III didn’t play against Austin Peay), and new starting quarterback Gunnar Stockton is still building confidence. He completed 26 of 34 passes for 227 yards, but didn’t see a couple of open receivers running down the field. The good news: Georgi’s defense continued its hot start, limiting the Governors to only 10 first downs and 196 yards of offense. It will need a similar performance if the Bulldogs are going to beat the Vols for a ninth straight time.

Georgia will have a difficult challenge next week if the offense doesn’t come along, as the Bulldogs go on the road to take on the high-powered offense of the Tennessee Volunteers.

Kickoff between Georgia and Tennessee is scheduled for Sept. 13 at 3:30 p.m. ET.
