Georgia running back Sony Michel suffered a broken bone in his hand on Saturday. But head coach Mark Richt doesn’t expect Michel to miss any games.
“Either the first or second play he broke a bone in his hand. He kinda played with a banged up hand,” Richt said on Sunday. “It’s not anything that’s going to need surgery or anything like that, but there was a slight fracture, I guess is the best way to describe it. That didn’t help the cause, but, again, that’s football.”
Michel rushed for 45 yards on 13 carries in the Bulldogs’ 27-3 loss.
Georgia defensive tackle Trenton Thompson suffered an apparent lower leg injury in the fourth quarter Saturday. According to Richt, he shouldn’t miss any time.
“He’s fine,” Richt said. “He’s just been dealing with a sprained ankle, and sometimes you’re in there battling in the trenches and it gets tweaked and it just hurts for awhile.”
