Georgia running back Sony Michel suffered a broken bone in his hand on Saturday. But head coach Mark Richt doesn’t expect Michel to miss any games.
โEither the first or second play he broke a bone in his hand. He kinda played with a banged up hand,โ Richt said on Sunday. โItโs not anything thatโs going to need surgery or anything like that, but there was a slight fracture, I guess is the best way to describe it. That didnโt help the cause, but, again, thatโs football.โ
Michel rushed for 45 yards on 13 carries in the Bulldogs’ 27-3 loss.
Georgia defensive tackle Trenton Thompson suffered an apparent lower leg injury in the fourth quarter Saturday. According to Richt, he shouldn’t miss any time.
โHeโs fine,โ Richt said. โHeโs just been dealing with a sprained ankle, and sometimes youโre in there battling in the trenches and it gets tweaked and it just hurts for awhile.โ
