Georgia suffered its first loss of the regular season last Saturday, and while the Bulldogs figure to rebound both on and off the field, they did lose a regional commitment to add insult to injury.
According to reporting from 247Sports’ Zach Blostein, 3-star linebacker Temorris Campbell decommitted from Georgia on Wednesday, with the Miami native opting to re-open his recruitment at this time.
Having been committed to UGA since May following a visit, Campbell also holds offers from the likes of Florida State, Indiana, Missouri and Louisville.
At 6-foot-1, 210 pounds, Campbell currently plays for Miami Carol High School after spending the 2024 campaign with St. Thomas Aquinas and 2025 with Chaminade-Madonna, also powerhouse programs in Florida.
According to 247Sports, Georgia‘s 2027 recruiting class still ranks 9th overall in the nation, although the Bulldogs now have just one linebacker pledged in the group.
Also worth noting is the fact that Campbell was Kirby Smart‘s lone commitment from the state of Florida in the class, a region where UGA has had plenty of success in recruiting since he took over.
It remains to be seen if–along with rebounding on the field–Smart & Co. can dip into Florida and bolster their class back into the Top 5 of the rankings, as they’ve grown accustomed to in recent years.
