Georgia WR Kearis Jackson praises SEC’s efforts to keep players safe amid COVID-19 pandemic

The SEC is moving forward with plans to play football this fall, and players are back at practice this week.
Do they feel safe as they navigate through the COVID-19 pandemic? Georgia WR Kearis Jackson was asked that question on Wednesday.
As you can see below, Jackson praised SEC commissioner Greg Sankey and the league’s efforts to keep players safe:

“The SEC and Georgia, and all SEC schools have done a phenomenal job of making sure our players are going to stay safe,” Jackson said. “The commissioner has done a great job of making sure we’re getting tested two to three times a week prior to game time. And I feel like that’ll help us know whether we have COVID or not. I feel like we’ve done a great job on campus. I feel I’d be safer on campus than I’d be at home, because I know I’ll be able to get a test, I know I won’t be around as many people, I’ll be around my teammates. I don’t go too many places. But I feel like the SEC has done a great job of making sure our players are staying safe.”
As of now, the season is still set to start on Saturday, Sept. 26. Hopefully, players will remain safe on campus and we can continue to move toward Week 1.
