After going undrafted, Quincy Adeboyejo faced an uphill battle to make an NFL roster. He appears to be making the most of his opportunity with the Baltimore Ravens.
According to Edward Lee of the Baltimore Sun, Adeboyejo has made several “eye-opening” catches in Ravens training camp against the team’s top defensive backs, getting the attention of coach John Harbaugh.
โQuincy has had a really good camp,โ Harbaugh said Saturday. โI think what you saw tonight is what weโve seen pretty much every day in training camp. A number of the young guys are doing similarly well. All directions now kind of point toward Thursday night [against the Washington Redskins in the preseason opener for both teams], and weโll see what those guys do Thursday night. To see them come out tonight under the lights with the crowd and play the way they did, itโs good to see.โ
If Adeboyejo continues to perform well, the Ravens can credit the East-West Shrine Game with leading them to the underrated wideout, where Baltimore wide receivers coach Bobby Engram got a close look at the former Rebel in action.
โHe coached me at the East-West Shrine Game,โ Adeboyejo said of Engram. โSo I already had a relationship with him. He called me before the draft and said he was trying to get me here. I didnโt get drafted. So it just had to come down to me and my agent talking about it and choosing which team. I think I had 15 choices I couldโve gone to, and I just trusted in Bobby. I liked him and his personality and him as a coach.โ
Adeboyejo had a recent injury scare, being carted off the field in Tuesday’s practice, but returned the next day.
