There are a ton of big games in college football this week that could go a long way in determining what teams make the playoffs.
One of those games is in the Big 12, as the Kansas State Wildcats travel to Austin to take on the Texas Longhorns. K-State is 6-2 on the season, and is 4-1 in the Big 12. The Longhorns are currently 7-1, and are also 4-1 in conference play.
The Longhorns have won the last six games in this series, but five of them have been decided by 6 points or less. ESPN’s Greg McElroy talked about the game on his show, and even made a prediction.
“I look at Texas in this game and I think it is a bad matchup for K-State,” McElroy said. “Texas will be stout against the run, and they have enough skill on the perimeter defensively to cover what I think is an underwhelming group of Kansas State receivers.”
One area where McElroy likes this Texas team is that he thinks this is the best Texas team in a long time.
“This is the best version of Texas we have seen the last four years, and I am not 100% this is the best edition of K-State we have seen,” McElroy said. “I think Texas wins this game comfortably by seven or more, probably closer to 10.”
Here’s McElroy’s full preview of the game:
