ESPN’s Greg McElroy has revealed his top 10 quarterbacks for the upcoming 2026 college football season.
McElroy broke down his top 10 on the latest episode of Always College Football. The list includes 3 passers from the SEC, all of whom are returning starters at their respective programs.
Here’s his top 10:
- Julian Sayin, Ohio State
- Dante Moore, Oregon
- Arch Manning, Texas
- Jayden Maiava, USC
- CJ Carr, Notre Dame
- Trinidad Chambliss, Ole Miss
- Darian Mensah, Miami
- Brendan Sorsby, Texas Tech
- Gunner Stockton, Georgia
- Demond Williams, Washington
Most of the 10 quarterbacks are also among the current favorites to win the Heisman Trophy according to the latest markets on Kalshi.
As of this writing, Manning and Carr are currently atop the leaderboard with each having a 13% chance to take home the award. Sayin, McElroy’s No. 1 quarterback, is further down the list with a 6% chance to win the Heisman Trophy.
Here’s a look at the current odds for the 2026 Heisman:
Texas and Notre Dame are both in the midst of Heisman Trophy droughts. The Longhorns’ last Heisman winner was Ricky Williams back in 1998. A Notre Dame player hasn’t brought the Heisman to South Bend since Tim Brown in 1987.
Quarterbacks have combined to win 8 of the last 10 Heisman Trophies overall.
